About Our Organization
Creating Opportunity for individuals with disabilities on Cape Cod is the touchstone that drives the life-changing services and supports offered by Cape Abilities. For nearly 50 years, this agency has provided enriching, high quality services, coupled with diverse community opportunities that empower our participants to achieve meaningful and valued roles in society.
Cape Abilities serves over 400 individuals with a broad range of disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), developmental and intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, blindness, Down syndrome, acquired brain injury, hearing impairment, mobility limitations, seizure disorder and mental health issues.
Our mission is to serve individuals with disabilities by educating, counseling, providing residential, social, therapeutic and employment supports so as to empower them to achieve meaningful and valued roles in society.
Founded in 1968 as Nauset Workshop, Cape Abilities has a long and distinguished history on Cape Cod. We are very proud that 90 cents of every dollar donated goes directly to our programs (far exceeding the industry standard). We have operated with revenues exceeding expenses for the past 26 consecutive years.
Our organization is guided by a Board of Directors with exceptional and diverse backgrounds, who are deeply invested in our community. Cape Abilities is, likewise, a strong member of the Cape Cod community, where our program participants live, work and volunteer, and forge meaningful partnerships with individuals and businesses throughout the community.
